It looks as if I may blog once a month instead of once a week, like originally planned. :)
I decided to blog today because we had an amazing, life changing thing happen in our family yesterday!
Yesterday morning after service was coming to an end Pastor Kevin asked us all to look to the person on our right and left and ask if they wanted us to go to the alter with them so they could give their heart to Christ. Sitting with my family, I usually ask but do not expect anyone to say yes. I turned to Will, he said I'm fine thanks and smiled. I asked K and she shook her head no with a smile. I looked down to L and asked her if she wanted me to go to the alter with her to ask Jesus into her heart and she just smiled. Thinking she was just being shy and cute I stood back up and a few seconds later I felt a tug on my skirt, I looked down and L said "yes" I said "you want to ask Jesus into your heart?" and she said "yes!" so I held her little hand and we started up to the front to pray.
I knelt down to pray with her and she asked Jesus into her heart! The pastor felt like having a water baptism service that night for all the people that were led to God that morning and all that wanted to get baptized could. K, H & L wanted to get baptized so we went back at 6:30 and they were baptized. I am so blessed for my young daughters to know the Lord and want to serve Him like they do. L is 3 1/2 years old. That will be a day she will never forget.
I had to share our wonderful news first, so as for what else has been going on... well, let's see. :)
January 4th I started reading the children's Bible to the girls every night and it has been so great. It sparked Will and I to get into studying together, so after I put the girls to bed and read to them we read more and study. It has drawn us closer together.
K caught a cold around the first of the year and her cough is lingering. There has not been a fever or aching in her body just a nasty cough. She is slowly getting better though.
H has started reading small words and I am so proud of her! She loves doing work and is very hands on... a little artist! She and L will sit in the book area of the playroom for 30 minutes to an hour at a time just reading or looking at books.
L started tracing her name very good this past week and I think later this week we will try it alone. I will need to look for some techniques for teaching her how to write because she wants to write from right to left instead of left to right. I suspect it is because she is left handed. :) She colors beautifully and stays within the lines even.
Will has started back to school and I know he is going to do wonderful this semester as well. I'm so proud of my husband.
As for me, I have lost 7 pounds so far this year and I am thrilled! I am so thankful for my friends health, safety and all of the good news from them but also praying for those friends in need.
I am truly blessed with wonderful family and friends. We are not perfect, but we try to get along and we pray together and for one another. I know that is why we have stuck together through the good and bad times. Oh and I finally found some house shoes that I love and my feet are now warm. Mwahahaha, I beat the wood floors this time, they will no longer take the warmth from my feet! Until next time...
